This section of the blog is dedicated to my husband, Tom.  He told me that what he really wanted for Christmas was to go and check out all of the local breweries in and around Grand Rapids.  At first, I was at a loss at how that could be a Christmas present, but then I got an idea!  To begin with, I made a list of all of the local breweries in West Michigan.  I then wrote down the name of each of them on a Christmas gift tag.  I placed these in a beer glass (part of a gift set wrapped up as his Christmas gift) — with the idea that each week (or as we have time) we can draw a name out of the glass and that’s the place we’ll visit that week.  I also made up a little evaluation form for each location that we can fill out with details about what we tried, what we liked, comments, etc.  And when I say “we”, I mostly mean Tom.  Sadly, I’m not much of a beer fan myself.  However, I am going to post reviews of each of the breweries here on my blog, as we visit them so we can share this Christmas gift with anyone who’s in search of a place to get a good local beer in West Michigan!  Don’t worry, most of the actual “review” content will come from Tom, a beer connoisseur and home-brew master.
